           Mission Statement

1. The Bulverde Landowners Association (BLA) is a non-profit corporation established by the original real estate developer for the Bulverde Hills, Bulverde Estates and Bulverde Oaks residential areas.  The BLA was established with a set of bylaws and the authority to enforce those bylaws, including architectural and design standards also known as deed restrictions.

2.  One of the primary functions of the BLA is to enforce and ensure that these "deed" restrictions are adhered to by the individual homeowners to help maintain property values and the quality of life within our community.

3.  The BLA is a local and democratic form of representative democracy, with BLA board members elected by their neighbors to govern in the best interest of ALL residents.

4.  BLA board members have an ethical obligation to review all proposed building construction plans for new homes, home additions and out buildings to ensure the plans adhere to the BLA building and property deed restrictions.

5.  BLA board members seek an effective balance between the rights, interests and preferences of individual residents and the collective rights of all homeowners.

6.  The BLA encourages residents to be reasonable, flexible and open to the possibility and benefits of compromise for the benefit of all the community.

7.  While the BLA might occasionally seek information or assistance from the Bulverde City Government for clarification of services, building codes, or laws controlled by the city government, the BLA is NOT legally a part of the Bulverde City Government.
